I tabled at a queer wellness fair last week, and received so many questions about my name. “Sooo… I’m drawn to this table, but I don’t really know what “erotic belonging” means. Can you tell me?”
In simple terms, it’s...
embodied in soulful connection
but let’s start with erotic…
So many moments we’re focused on output, outcome, “out there”.
For me, it’s erotic to turn all that attention inward, slowing down to feel sensations from inside our whole body.
How does the music you’re listening to, the food you’re eating, the person you’re watching, shape your inner landscape? Provoke sensations? Eroticism is all about feeling from the inside and allowing it to inform us. Embodied and present.
How about belonging? I see this as a knowingness of wovenness, felt deep within our bones. On a path of connection with our people (past, present and future), cultures, lands. Belonging to our dreams and desires.
Remembering we are in soulful connection to life itself, especially when it gets rough or wild.
It's not every day that we get to taste "erotic belonging", feeling embodied in soulful connection.
But when we do::::
can we savor it a minute longer?
Prioritize it a little higher?
Anchor it a foot deeper?
